Pick your problem
Three ways a door goes wrong.
From the tech's notebook
Keep it running smoothly
- 1
Schedule preventive maintenance
Catch small problems before they become big and expensive, especially before a Northern Michigan winter kicks in.
- 2
Replace worn seals
Cracked or brittle seals lead to drafts, leaks, and increased energy bills. A fresh seal pays for itself.
- 3
Trust your tech
Every maintenance visit includes a full inspection to ensure your garage door is performing at its best.
FAQ
Questions we hear
What are your hours for garage door repair?
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and closed on weekends. Call (231) 360-5442 during those hours to schedule a repair or a free estimate.
What areas do you serve for garage door repair?
We serve Traverse City and Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Antrim and Kalkaska counties, and we travel beyond that across Northern Michigan on occasion. Our office is on S Blue Star Drive south of Traverse City, just off US-31.
Do you charge for a garage door repair estimate?
No. Estimates are free. We'll look at the problem, explain what it needs and give you a clear quote before any work starts.
What should I do if my garage door won't open and my car is inside?
If you heard a bang or the door looks crooked, a spring or cable may have broken, so leave the door closed and call us. If the power is out, you can pull the manual release with the door fully closed and lift it by hand, but stop if it feels heavy. Never pull the release with the door open.
Do you repair garage doors and openers installed by other companies?
Yes. We repair all makes and models of garage doors and openers, whoever installed them. The age and brand only matter when parts are no longer made, and we'll tell you if that's the case.
How do I know whether I need a repair or a tune-up?
If something is broken, the door won't move or it's hanging crooked, you need a repair. If it still works but has gotten noisy, slow or jerky, a tune-up often fixes it and catches worn parts early. When in doubt, describe it to the office and we'll point you the right way.
