Around Grawn
Rural lots, pole barns and Silver Lake homes
Grawn sits where US-31 meets Silver Lake Road, on the line between Blair and Green Lake townships. It is a mix of year-round houses, homes on bigger rural lots and properties with a pole barn out back. Those outbuildings often carry wide or tall doors, and pole barn and oversize doors are a regular part of what we do.
The south half of Silver Lake reaches into Blair Township, and lake homes there sit alongside houses that have stood for decades. An older detached garage door that is still sound can often be brought back with new rollers, hinges and tracks instead of a full replacement.
Open fields around Grawn let the wind push snow into drifts, and a drift packed against a garage door can bend a bottom section or overload the opener when someone tries to force the door up. Clear the drift before opening, and if the door binds, stop and call the office.
