Heavy systems, handled safely02 / Before it gets worse
Don't let a small problem turn into a big one
Garage doors are heavy, complex systems. When one part breaks, others follow: a frayed cable strains the springs, a bent track chews up rollers, and an opener fighting a heavy door burns out early.
If something doesn't sound right, feel right or look right, call the office before it gets worse.
FAQ
Questions we hear
What should I do if my garage door came off the track?
Stop using the door and the opener right away, and keep people and cars out from under it. An off-track door can fall, and the cables are still under spring tension. Don't try to force it back in, just call the office.
Can a single garage door panel be replaced?
Often, yes. If the manufacturer still makes a matching section, we can replace just the damaged one. On older or discontinued doors a match can be harder to find, and we'll tell you honestly whether a panel or a new door makes more sense.
What should I do if I backed into my garage door?
Don't run the door again until it's been checked. Even a small dent can bend the track or knock a roller loose, and running it can make the damage worse. Take a photo, leave the door where it is and call us.
Is it safe to open my garage door with a broken cable?
No. A broken or loose cable means one side of the door isn't being held properly, and it can drop or twist in the opening. Leave it closed if you can and let our crew replace the cable.
Why does my garage door shake when it opens?
Worn rollers, dry or loose hinges and track that's out of alignment are the usual causes. A door out of balance can also jerk as the opener fights its weight. Shaking gets worse over time, so it's worth a look before something breaks.
Why is there a gap under one side of my garage door?
A door that sits crooked usually has a cable or spring problem, or a track that has shifted. Sometimes the floor itself is uneven or the bottom seal is worn. If the gap appeared suddenly, stop using the door and call us.
